Round 5 Ison Park Friday 15th November saw Shoalhaven Mariners junior teams Seahawks, Stingrays and Dolphins take the field, it was hot and windy and the ground was crunching under foot, but the kids enthusiasm was high.
The Teams looked great in their new uniforms having a go. The Teal team (Stingrays) took the win for the night with some excellent hits and great fielding.
Cooper Stibbard took to the mound in the first innings taking some great catches and fielding the ball to first base but the Navy team (Seahawks) was just too quick getting on base safe. They had a break thru when Cooper Stibbard took a catch off Daniel Lawler big hit and tagged him. Abbie Reed, Isaiah Deaton, Noah Smith, Cooper Stibbard and Ethan Wilson got home before side away. The Stingrays had a great start with Jack Meagher, Allison Davis and Morgan Lewis getting home before a big hit from Max Marquis was caught by Daniel Lawler near second base followed by Kai Balzke and Paige Williams getting home for side away.
Second innings the Teal team came out to take the field with Allison Davis on the mound, Kai Balzke on first and Oly Lenehan out at right field who fielded the ball twice to Kai Balzke on 1st base securing 2 outs quickly we had Thomas Lalancette doing a great job as catcher. The 3rd out was taken at second base, bringing the game to a close.
Our weekly Junior McDonalds award winners this week go to Milla Balzke, Isaiah Deaton and Oly Lenehan . T Ball McDonalds award winners go to Matilda Lewis and Grace Wilson . Well done !
Well done to all the kids who took part, the teams are coming together well, developing skills and learning the game.

Sunday 24th November will see Shoalhaven Mariners Junior League team play at Fred Finch Park Berkeley starting at 1030am against Pirates Blue for anybody interested in joining the cheer squad.
