Shoalhaven Mariners Minor 2nd Grade travelled to Cringila Park Cringila to take on the Wollongong Cardinals 3 B side.
Mariners batted first in a very short innings with 3 up 3 down. Cardinals kept Mariners on their toes having 7 safe hits in all directions, with Cardinals bringing in 10 runs.
Second innings Ben Campbell started Mariners batting off having a safe hit to left field along with Brodie O’Reilly having a great double bag hit to centre field scoring our first run of the game.
Unfortunately our first three pitchers struggled allowing Cardinals to have another big innings bringing in another 10 runs. Score line now 20-1
Third innings saw Dalton Haines start Mariners batting off with a safe hit to left field. Matthew Moore continued the batting with a double base hit to centre field, with Mariners next batter having a safe hit and bringing in 2 runs. Mariners forcing errors at important times helped gain another run over.
In response Mariners came out on top with 3 up and 3 down with no runs over.
Final win going to Cardinals 20-4
Pitching duties were shared between four players backed up well with catcher Stephen Pearson.
